| 1. Abuse it, do not hold back on distressing your sink. The best patina results from heaviest use, the more dents and scratches the better the appearance. Dropping large heavy objects may cause water to pool.
2. You can not hurt corners with blunt objects. *Care should be taken in dropping or throwing large sharp knives and utensils.
3. For easiest polishing I recommend “Hopes” Brass polish along with a clean soft rag (One can and a rag is sent with each sink for your convenience). Hopes brass polish may be found at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Linens & Things. At least once a month for the first year polishing is recommended to help build up a protective coating on your precious metal sink. A soft abrasive such as “Flitz” or “Brasso” may be used (on the spot only) if staining occurs; such as water spots from soapy rags or from leaving a pot in a wet sink for a long period of time. Well water may cause some spotting in different parts of the country, but as you build up that protective coating it will be easier to care for. Wiping dry after each use helps.
4. Soft soap and water should be used for cleaning after each use, then rinse and wipe bottom dry.
5. We Do Not recommend that hot pots or pans be put on German Silver countertops. The metal is very thin and the heat may cause warping and may aid in the loosening of the glue. That may cause metal to pull away from glued down countertop. For these reason we Do Not warranty countertops.
